MedCPU is a real-time clinical care advice platform with the ability to power multiple applications across various clinical departments and settings.

Our system uses screen reading and proprietary Medical Text Processor technology to identify potential variances in care and lapses in compliance requirements, triggering real-time alerts to clinicians.

MedCPU’s unique approach includes:

  • Continuously analyzing the patient’s clinical situation against codified deep clinical knowledge, expertise and best practices with a robust clinical decision support engine
  • Reading and extracting information from both structured and unstructured notes in real time via our proprietary Medical Text Processor technology

Our technology is EMR-agnostic, does not require changes to the clinician workflow and is easily customized to fit any existing provider workflow and patient care standards.

Medical Text Processor

Extracts critically important data elements from the patient’s chart, including physicians’ and nurses’ free text notes, as well as data from other relevant IT systems. This enables the MedCPU application to capture nearly 100% of the relevant patient data to accurately activate clinical alerts and prompts as compared to other systems that, in many instances, miss over 50% of the data due to its entry in narrative notes.

Best-Practice Plug-Ins

Best practice and protocol Plug-Ins that contain the critical rules, protocols, best practices and regulatory requirements needed for each disease/clinical area. The Obstetrics Plug-In, for instance, is comprised of over 4,000 best practice rules and protocols derived from extensive evidence-based medicine and clinician best practice sources “tuned” to the client’s specific policies and updated on an ongoing basis.

Decision Support System Engine

Analyzes the extracted information in real-time, against the best practice Plug-In, providing suggestions, prompts, alerts and reminders to the clinical staff at the point of care via the proprietary and unique Advisor button.

Clinical Database

Clinical Database provides the most complete data repository of a patient’s clinical information by capturing both structured and narrative medical entries and transforming the unstructured, unusable free-text into usable discrete data.
